Camera

My old Canon Xl1-S-
I shot it in 60i and will convert the project to 24p in post. Good software to do that is Red Giant's "Frames"- more about that in an another tutorial.

Manual lens-
This lens has a better picture than the servo lens the camera comes with.

Bogen Fig Rig-
Since the lens doesn't have image stabilization i didn't want the viewers to get motion sick.

Flip Video-
This is what we used for our behind the scenes footage. CHEAP! Talk soft, the mic sucks!
Audio

Sennheiser ME66 Mic-
This mic can pickup your grandma farting two states away. Good audio is key!
Boom Pole-
To keep the mic above the camera shot.
Windscreen-
Reduce wind noise

DV Promix 3 Portable Mixer-
This way our Audio gal Lora could adjust the audio and go straight into the camera.
2 XLR cables-
One to the mic, one to the camera
2 Headphones-
To listen
Lighting

Lowel Tungsten Package-
We used two lights during the campfire scene and that was it. I wish i could have done more but there was no time or budget for a generator and a proper lighting package. Bummer, i love lighting.
Extension Cords "stingers"-
We had three or four cords with a splitter.
Yes i stole these pictures from B&H but i buy all my video gear from them, they have everything and great prices.

****TIP****
Sometimes you can find really cheap cameras on the web, make SURE that it has an US warranty and is made for American consumers. You could get a camera in Chinese... (this goes for still cameras as well)
