The war film tutorials are broken up into four sections, preproduction, production, post-production, and marketing. Get ready to land in hell with preproduction... I hate puns.
In preproduction I'm going to to go over some tutorials that are not war film eccentric but could help you a lot. It is probably the most boring part of the process but the most important, like breakfast. Damn puns.
Do it right, plan for everything! And guess what?! Everything will change but at least you have a plan to build off of.
**TIP**
Don't forget to plan the simple things like: where people are going to sleep, what are they going to eat, and restrooms (or pack a shovel!).
**Story**
I have to admit the last few weeks before shooting I felt like I was falling out of a plane without a parachute. The days were wizzing past and I was spending most of my nights on the phone trying to keep everything from falling apart. When i wasn't doing that I was doing one of a thousand tasks and trying to get people to help me. When someone takes their time to help you be grateful!!!! But don't expect it, expect everything will fail if you don't stay on it. When you are not paying people there is very little incentive, we had one actor bail out the days before the shoot! DAYS! Just be stubborn and persistent, if you ask me this is the hardest phase.
