Becoming then staying organized is your best friend on a film shoot. Below is some free web applications to make your life easier.
Google Docs- If you have a gmail account your already signed up for Google Docs, if not just sign up for a free gmail account.
Unless your trying to sell your script (which needs to be properly formated) I highly suggest writing your script online. First if your computer dies you haven’t lost your work, Second you can let select people read your script or work on it with you!

G Cal- Same as google docs you can share a calendar with your cast and crew, then have a private calendar just for your self. I wish I had used this on my shoot.... *shaking fists to the sky!*

Evernote (at evernote.com) is another web app I wish I had when filming. Evernote is for storing Links, Text and pictures from the web into notebooks. I love evernote, I want to marry evernote and have note babies. I’m only half way kidding.... just kidding. anyways.
Make notebooks like, blood, guns, costumes, tutorials then when you find something cool save it to your notebook. If you use firefox there there are two “web clippers”, I use the one that is a link on your bookmark toolbar (the firefox Addon crashes a lot). Their website will explain it. :)
